Position: Intern – QA Engineer
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Intern – QA Engineer to join our growing team working on a cutting-edge healthcare platform. This role plays a key part in ensuring the quality, performance, security, and compliance of our web and mobile applications and APIs that power critical healthcare services for patients, doctors, and partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and execute test plans and test cases for web, mobile, and API components
- Perform manual and automated functional testing against requirements and user stories
- Conduct non-functional testing including performance, security, usability, and compatibility testing
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts for regression and smoke testing
- Perform API testing using tools such as Postman, SoapUI, or similar
- Collaborate with developers, product owners, and stakeholders to clarify requirements and ensure full test coverage
- Log, track, and verify defects using tools such as JIRA or similar issue trackers
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines
- Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes, standards, and best practices
- Ensure testing activities comply with healthcare data security and privacy standards (e.g., HIPAA)
- Support production deployments and perform post-release validation
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
- Hands-on experience in QA for web, mobile applications, and APIs
- Strong knowledge of manual and automated testing methodologies
- Experience with test automation tools such as Selenium, Appium, Cypress, or similar
- Experience with API testing tools (Postman, Rest Assured)
- Familiarity with performance testing tools (JMeter, LoadRunner) is an advantage
- Understanding of secure testing practices, especially in regulated industries
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and passion for delivering high-quality software
Nice to Have
- Experience testing healthcare applications or working with healthcare data and compliance standards
- Basic scripting or programming knowledge for test automation frameworks
