About the Role

We are expanding our Engineering Team with 4 open roles for junior and mid-level software engineers.

• Work in small cross-functional squads (4-5 Engineers + Technical Lead)
• Collaborate in a triad with Product Managers and Designers to solve customer problems
• Core tech stack:
  • Backend: PHP 8, Laravel, JSON REST APIs
  • Frontend: TypeScript, React, in-house design system (Sinble)
  • Data: Postgres, S3, Redis, Typesense
  • Infrastructure: Kubernetes on AWS, Helm, Terraform
  • Transitioning from Gitflow to CI/CD workflows

What You'll Do

• Collaborate with a cross-functional squad to build features for Ofload’s core platform
• Develop and maintain backend services using PHP 8, Laravel, and REST APIs
• Contribute to front-end components in TypeScript + React (depending on experience)
• Participate in code reviews and write clean, maintainable code
• Write and maintain automated tests to ensure high-quality releases
• Learn and apply software design principles (MVC, REST, dependency injection)
• Help debug production issues and improve system reliability and performance
• Take ownership of features and contribute to architectural discussions as experience grows

Requirements

Junior (1–2 years experience)

• Commercial experience building web applications or equivalent practical experience
• Experience with at least one backend language/framework (PHP/Laravel, Ruby/Rails, Python/Django, NodeJS)
• Some experience or willingness to learn React/TypeScript
• Understanding of REST APIs, relational databases, and basic software design principles
• Comfortable with Linux/MacOS development environments

Mid (2–5 years experience)

• Experience building and maintaining production systems
• Solid experience with PHP and Laravel or strong expertise in another backend ecosystem
• Practical experience with TypeScript/React or modern front-end frameworks
• Experience with relational databases (Postgres) and API-driven systems
• Understanding of testing practices, version control (Git), and modern development workflows
• Ability to take ownership of features from conception to delivery
• Cloud experience (AWS) is a bonus
