Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant with strong expertise in US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). This role is pivotal in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial statements, supporting audits, and providing actionable financial insights for strategic decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Verify, allocate, post, and reconcile accounts payable and receivable.
- Produce accurate accounting reports and present findings.
- Analyze financial information and summarize financial status.
- Identify errors and suggest efficiency improvements.
- Provide technical support and advice on management accounting.
- Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures.
- Manage accounting assistants and bookkeepers.
- Participate in financial standards setting and forecasting processes.
- Prepare financial statements and budgets on schedule.
- Assist with tax audits and tax returns.
- Oversee internal and external audits to ensure compliance.
- Plan, assign, and review staff work.
- Support month-end and year-end close processes.
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to strengthen internal controls.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP principles.
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of accounting experience.
- Proven experience as a Financial Controller, Accounting Supervisor, or Senior Accountant.
- Thorough knowledge of accounting procedures.
- In-depth understanding of US GAAP.
- Awareness of business trends and financial implications.
- Familiarity with financial statements and reporting.
- Experience with general ledger functions and month-end/year-end close.
- Hands-on experience with accounting software (FreshBooks, QuickBooks, etc.).
- Advanced MS Excel skills (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, data analysis).
- Strong accuracy, attention to detail, and numerical aptitude.
- BS degree in Accounting, Finance, or a relevant field.
- Relevant certifications (CPA, CMA) preferred.
