Job Overview
Lifeway is seeking a motivated IT Security Intern to join our IT Security team. This internship provides hands-on exposure to cybersecurity operations and IT support, with a focus on contributing to a key project within our Cybersecurity Risk Framework.
The ideal candidate is passionate about technology, eager to learn, and has strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Internship Program Details
- Compensation: Competitive hourly pay; all required equipment provided
- Work Schedule: ~32 hours per week (core workdays: Tuesday–Thursday)
- Duration: June 1 – August 14, 2026 (11 weeks; full commitment required)
- Location: Remote (contiguous 48 U.S. states)
- In-Person Requirements:
- Orientation: June 1–4, 2026 (Nashville)
- Final Presentations: August 11–14, 2026 (Nashville)
- Travel costs covered by Lifeway
- Eligibility:
- Enrolled undergraduate or graduate students with at least 2 years of completed study
- Recent graduates (December 2025 or May 2026) eligible

Responsibilities
- Live out Lifeway’s mission and values with a strong commitment to Kingdom work
- Assist with vulnerability scanning and reporting
- Monitor and analyze security alerts and system logs
- Participate in incident response and root cause analysis
- Support day-to-day IT operations, including hardware and software troubleshooting
- Document security policies and procedures
- Attend in-person Orientation and Final Presentation sessions in Nashville
Qualifications
Education
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field
Required Skills & Knowledge
- Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, etc.)
- Foundational knowledge of cybersecurity principles (firewalls, antivirus, vulnerabilities)
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Proactive mindset with a strong desire to learn
- High integrity and ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
- Active involvement in an evangelical Christian church
Work Authorization & Location
- Remote position within the contiguous United States
- Occasional travel to Nashville required
