The Scope

As a Senior Structural Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring the structural integrity, safety, and timely delivery of Abans’ large-scale commercial, retail, and industrial developments.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct structural analysis, design, and calculations for buildings, foundations, and related structures.
• Develop technical drawings, specifications, and Bills of Quantities (BOQs) in collaboration with architects and draftsmen.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, local regulations, and safety requirements.
• Perform site visits, inspections, and structural assessments to monitor progress and identify issues.
• Review contractor submissions, shop drawings, and material samples for technical accuracy.
• Coordinate with project managers, MEP teams, and contractors to resolve design and construction challenges.
• Prepare engineering reports, feasibility studies, and structural review documentation.
• Recommend structural modifications, strengthening, or rectification solutions when required.
• Manage timelines to ensure projects are delivered on schedule and to expected quality standards.
• Participate in tender evaluations and provide technical input for procurement decisions.

The Person

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering from a recognized institution.
• Professional registration with IESL or equivalent (added advantage).
• Minimum 8 years of experience in civil and structural engineering.
• Exposure to commercial, retail, residential, or industrial projects.
• Strong knowledge of structural design codes such as BS, EuroCodes, ASTM, or equivalent.
• Proficiency in engineering and project tools including:
  • ETABS, STAAD.Pro, SAP2000
  • AutoCAD, Revit (Structural)
  • MS Project
• Willingness and ability to travel island-wide as required.
