IT Security Engineer

Abans Finance PLC, a leading and highly rated finance company in Sri Lanka with assets exceeding Rs. 10 billion, is seeking a dynamic and result-oriented IT Security Officer / Engineer to join its winning team.

The selected candidate will be responsible for protecting the organization’s IT infrastructure, ensuring regulatory compliance, and strengthening the overall security posture across cloud and on-premises environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess security posture, identify threats, and recommend improvements
• Implement security controls, policies, and regulatory compliance measures
• Monitor, analyze, and respond to security incidents in real-time
• Perform vulnerability management, penetration testing, and patching
• Manage firewalls, DLP, endpoint protection, IDS/IPS, and logging solutions
• Ensure security of cloud and on-premises infrastructure
• Conduct security hardening, audits, and compliance assessments
• Provide cybersecurity training and promote a security-aware culture

Key Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field
• Hands-on experience with security tools (SIEM, EDR, Firewalls, DLP, IDS/IPS)
• Strong knowledge of security frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001, CIS Controls)
• Familiarity with regulatory compliance in financial institutions
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

• CEH
• CompTIA Security+
• CISM
• ISO 27001 Lead Implementer / Auditor
• Other relevant cybersecurity certifications
