Role
We are seeking a Junior Backend Software Engineer to join the Growth domain, supporting our regional Product team based in Singapore. You will be part of a highly skilled international team driving innovation across the global platform, contributing to the design, development, and optimization of backend services.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement features used across the global platform.
- Collaborate with cross-functional, international teams to manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.
- Contribute to designing and evolving system architecture to meet current needs and support future growth.
- Enforce coding standards and conduct code reviews to maintain high-quality codebase.
- Implement automated testing frameworks to catch bugs early and ensure software reliability.
- Apply design patterns and best practices in reliability management, including resiliency, autoscaling, monitoring, and alerting.
- Identify and resolve complex technical issues in software and infrastructure.
- Continuously optimize systems for performance, scalability, and maintainability.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in backend development.
- Practical experience with software architecture, design patterns, algorithms, and writing automated tests (unit, integration, functional).
- Familiarity with microservices architecture and patterns is a strong plus.
- Solid understanding of relational and distributed databases (normal forms, ACID, isolation levels, index anatomy, distributed database concepts).
- Experience with the software development lifecycle and working in cross-functional, international agile teams.
- Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
