Job Description
In this opportunity as a Software Engineer, you will:
- Deliver technical solutions for a single product and/or participate in complex projects, possibly leading and being accountable for straightforward projects that are not complex in nature.
- Operate with a moderate level of guidance and direction, engaging with immediate project or QA/Software Development Engineer teams and cross-functional teams to execute.
- Write new software, make modifications to existing software, or integrate software applications and modules in accordance with agreed-upon specifications, translating low-complexity business requirements into coding.
- Actively participate and collaborate in meetings, processes, agile ceremonies, and interaction with other technology groups, interpreting code and solving problems based on existing good practices and standards.
- Participate in the code review process for learning purposes and act on the correction of incidents identified by the continuous code quality inspection tool.
- Execute on provided design, provide technical support to operations or other development teams, and create and maintain all required technical documentation/manual related to assigned components to ensure supportability.
- Make suggestions for problem solutions or software enhancements, implementing solutions as directed within standards.
- Participate in project planning sessions with team members to analyze development requirements, provide design options, and provide work breakdown and estimates of work.
- Provide status updates for own scope of work within projects and participate in internal team and status meetings.
- Develop software using disciplined software development processes, adhering to team/company standards and software best practice guidelines, and corporate policies.
- Explain difficult issues and obtain agreement as needed, supporting the support team in resolving customer issues and remote access.
About You
You’re a fit for the role of a Software Engineer if your background includes:
- Experience in delivering technical solutions and participating in complex projects with moderate guidance.
- Ability to engage with immediate and cross-functional teams effectively.
- Proficiency in writing, modifying, and integrating software applications, understanding low-complexity business requirements, and translating them into coding.
- Active participation in meetings, agile ceremonies, and collaboration with other technology groups.
- Experience in interpreting code, solving problems based on standards, and participating in code reviews for learning purposes.
- Ability to provide technical support, create and maintain documentation, and implement solutions within standards.
- Understanding of business rules related to company products, performing root cause analysis of moderately complex problems.
- Ability to align development work with product strategy and objectives, addressing routine objections with limited support and knowing when escalation is needed.
- Strong communication skills, ability to share information clearly across all mediums and audiences, and active collaboration in meetings and processes.
- Willingness to learn, adapt, and bounce back from setbacks.
